Career Possibilities
What do you want to do for the rest of your life?
Do you want to be confined to a cube? Or in a place where there's always something new and different going on? Do you want to push paper? Or shape metal? Do you want a skill set that's in oversupply? Or do you want the training that will be most in demand over the next 20 years? Do you want to wonder if what you do matters? Or know that you've made something of value that we all depend on?
No matter what product you touch, machine operators, machinists, designers, engineers and welders have been there. And they are never going away.
The metal parts of nearly every mechanical device - from an engine block to a tuning pin - are machined on precision CNC equipment. So are the molds that shape plastic parts - from milk jugs to MP3 players. The machines on which those things are made - and everything from the frames of mining equipment to the housing of a wind turbine - are fabricated by machine operators and welders. And the equipment and assembly systems that crank out everything from computers to cars are designed, engineered and operated by people with special training and skills.
And there aren't enough of those people around.
The best ones work here. Would you like to become one of them?
